This was the last straw. We asked them to take back the tub and refund our money. They refused.
P.S. We had to supply 2 neighbors to help bring the tub into our house.
Another problem was the temperature which we set at 102. One night it would go to 107, another night to 109. We called perhaps a dozen times and got ridiculous answers ("the tar will disappear soon" and "your water is bad"), and regarding the heat, they told us to set the tub at 96, which we did. The temp never went below 105. We had to empty out buckets of hot water and add cold water before we could go in.

We got no action until we threatened to call American Express on Aug 25th. They came the next day and cured these problems. 5 days later we had a flood on the floor of the room. We quickly drained the tub, mopped up the floor before the wood would warp, and called them.
We purchased a PDC tub from Quality Pools and Spas, installed it Aug.2, 2016 and on Aug.3d and daily thereafter until Aug.26th a sticky black tar-like substance came from somewhere and left a ring around the tub, which was very hard to get off. It took quite a bit of work to clean the tub each night and although we showered before going in, we had to shower again after getting out.
there was no reply for 3 days.
